Let’s take a look at a short video made by a talented artist named Klaire:
In this video you can see Klaire draw a parrot on her hand while explaining what she does with her relaxing voice. In the end of the video you can see the final result – an optical illusion of a parrot’s head!
The problem is that we all saw the whole drawing process being done right in front of your computer screen (or mobile phone). Thus, we can easily recognize Klaire’s colored thumb and forefinger. However, if we would have seen just the final result, we probably wouldn’t be able to spot the hand that hides behind this optical illusion and might end up being quite confused. This is actually the case with many other optical illusions.

Hand art is actually a form of body painting where, unlike tattoos, the paintings that are drawn on the human body are only temporary. I was actually surprised to realize that there are hand models (yes, that’s their job) that allow other hand artists to draw on their hands.
The purpose of these paintings is usually to make the hand (or both hands) resemble something else, like an animal (see the parrot example above) or other object.
Here is an example of a painted hand that blends in the background of the USA flag. As you can see, this hand is showing the peace sign. Isn’t that an awesome piece of art? If you think it’s simple to draw it, then go ahead and try it yourself. It might look simple, but you’ll be surprised how difficult and demanding the drawing process can be.
Bloody Hand Art
Many hand art paintings and videos can also contain “blood” and other ugly stuff (well, it’s not real blood, but it gives you the illusion that it is). The reason for this is probably because these grotesque paintings are more shareable and likeable (and we all know that, usually, this is the most important parameter). You can easily find photos and videos of such paintings by searching for hand art on Google or YouTube.
Here is a video example of hand art painting that contains just a little “blood”. This video teaches us how to draw a 3D heart hole in your hand. It has gotten more than 122 million views!
I will spare you the more bloody visions, even if these visions are fake.
