The 2019 Storm Area 51 Event

More than 2 million people responded “going” on a Facebook event named Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us. This event actually started as a joke by an internet prankster named Matty Roberts in July 2019 (the event itself was supposed to take place on Friday, September 20, 2019).

Area 51 is a top secret military base of the United States Air Force that is located in southern Nevada. The reason that so many people are interested in it is that there are numerous conspiracy theories surrounding Area 51. UFO enthusiasts and many other communities believe that aliens (dead or alive) and other secret alien technologies like flying saucers are kept in this base. Obviously, there is no proof for any of these theories.

How Many People Died While Raiding Area 51?

Many folks were wondering how many people were hurt during the Area 51 raid. Luckily, no one has died or injured in this event (although a few people were arrested).

You should know that Area 51 is restricted to the public – we have no way of even getting close to the base. If you’re dumb enough to raid the base – you will probably get shot or arrested and you’re chances of actually infiltrating Area 51 are basically zero. That’s the reason that some people expected raiders to be shot – but fortunately no one was hurt.

This event caught a lot of hype in recent months and got a lot of coverage worldwide. However, the real number of people that actually showed up to the event was roughly 3000 people. Nearly 200 people made it to the main gate of Area 51 and at least 2 people were arrested. Did you know that more than 2 million claimed that they are going to this event on Facebook? Where did they go? What a joke…

How can pranksters like Matty organize such fake events in the future when the public refuse cooperate? Do you have no shame or decency? It made so many people laugh so hard (like me :p). What are they going to do with their lives now that it’s over?

Even the police estimated that at least 30,000 people would show up to the event. It’s hard to tell if the police was disappointed or not, but they did their job and explained to people that trying to storm Area 51 will be a very bad idea for their own safety. It still didn’t stop all enthusiasts and a few people were still arrested.

Here is a video showing interviews of participants in the Storm Area 51 Event:

Will this event going to be the last one? I guess we’re just going to wait and see…

Area 51 Conspiracy Theories

One of the most popular UFO conspiracies is the 1947 Roswell UFO incident. Many UFO enthusiasts believe that remains from a crashed alien flying saucer in Roswell were collected and brought to the Area 51 base. Some people even claim that the US army has found alien bodies in this incident.

UFO enthusiasts also claim that one of the main goals of the Area 51 base is to reverse engineer alien technology by experimenting with crashed alien aircraft. However, no one has managed to show a real proof to any of these claims.

A poll that was conducted in June 2019 among US adults showed that 54% believe that the government is hiding information about UFOs, 27% said that it’s not hiding such information and 19% said that they don’t know. According to this poll, it seems that most Americans do seem to believe that some of these conspiracies might be true – which is rather interesting an even surprising.
